The club promotes participation in the active sport of SCUBA (Self- Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) and Skin Diving (snorkeling). As divers, we experience the excitement and adventure of safely exploring innerspace - the other three quarters of our planet where fantastic beauty awaits, and an infinite variety of life abounds. Oceans, rivers, seas, lakes and quarries hold submerged habitats that will capture your interest and stimulate your imagination for a lifetime.

The Scubaneers sponsors monthly local dive trips during the May-October dive season, and a one-week Caribbean destination in the early spring of each year. Local trips to Norfork Lake and Bull Shoals Lake in northern Arkansas, Cerulean Springs in western Kentucky, or Mermet Springs in southern Illinois are typical in a dive season. An occasional trip to Lake Michigan, Florida or the Texas gulf coast is made. Previous Caribbean trips include Roatan, Honduras; Cozumel, Mexico; Salt Cay and Provo, Turks & Caicos; Bonaire, Netherland Antilles; Glovers Reef Atoll, Belize; Bequia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines; and Saba, Dutch West Indies.

Club meeting agenda typically includes a business portion to discuss and plan future events, and review previous activities; and an entertainment portion where the club views a dive video or listens to a guest speaker. An indoor pool is rented occasionally following a meeting for members to maintain skills, check equipment or simply have fun in the water.
